Emily Brand is an emerging painter and mixed media artist living and working in South East London. Emily is inspired by nature, emotion, and the expressive power of colour. Her work is characterised by bold palettes and an intuitive approach, using colour as a tool to communicate feeling rather than literal representation.While her practice spans a range of styles, Brand’s work is united by experimentation and a strong focus on colour. In recent years, she has increasingly explored abstract and experimental approaches, manipulating the colours she observes to create expressive, emotionally resonant compositions.Brand is largely self-taught, having completed A-level Art and continued to develop her practice through independent study. She has also undertaken art courses at City Lit in London and adult learning programmes in Lewisham, expanding her skills across painting.She has participated in local group exhibitions organised by Catford Arts and the Bromley Arts Society, and has held solo exhibitions at community venues including local pubs, the Corbett Community Library, and the Ripley Arts Centre. Brand continues to develop her practice through ongoing experimentation and engagement with local audiences.
