Murmuration explored themes of connection, migration, belonging and creativity and served as a symbol of the people of Lewisham coming together. Murmuration was hand crafted by the Lewisham community and curated by Annika Cox and Alice Burnhope for London Borough of Culture 2022 in partnership with Cockpit. Traces of Murmuration are still on display at Forest Hill Library. Visitors came to Forest Hill Library to experience Murmuration, including a performance by Tyrone Isaac-Stuart, soundscapes, refreshments and the opportunity to take part in the special exhibition by following a guide to creating origami birds while surrounded by the borough’s creations.
